I quietly interjected to give it time, it will take a few years to work out the kinks. He agreed, or rather, he said, "They darn well better because illegal aliens are crossing the Mexican border in droves and Obama bla bla bla." I pointed out we don't live anywhere near the Mexican border, and he went off on how they are going to crash our economy, anarchy, and our neighborhood needs a militia.
That just cracked me up, literally!

Me too! It was a good thing we were on the phone. I wouldn't have been able to maintain my composure in person.

And they wonder why they lost in 2012, will never win a national election again in their current form, or win in politically moderate areas

Care to make a wager on that?

If the party in power manages to screw-up badly enough people are going to choose the alternative.
Even if they have a purple squirrel at the top of the ticket.

I'm hoping that a few people here get the message from that video. The capitalization thing really gets to me; I'm not sure why it's so hard to hit the shift key.

That song comes from a new album released today:

I just bought it at the store!

Aside from Robin Thicke, he also parodies Iggy Azalea, Lorde, Imagine Dragons and Pharrell Williams on this album.

I've never understood why you can say just about anything to a stranger on the internet, but if you dare to correct someone's spelling or grammar, you are the one who's at fault.

It's considered a personal attack. It's attacking the person (rather the person's grammar) instead of what the person is saying. You wouldn't get in trouble for jokingly correcting me for a grammar error because your intent isn't to ridicule or degrade. However, when opposing me in an argument, the intent is a personal attack in a superior way. Now, there are ways around it. You just have to tone it down, be vague, or generalize. You can never be assuredly safe walking that thin line because each moderator interpretation subjective. You have to weigh the risks and benefits.
