Hey everyone! So I'm a Pittsburgh newbie and the weather has been really nice but I'm wondering when does Fall usually start?

I was answering the question in the post (when does fall start) not the one in the title (when does it get cold). I agree about the cold. I don't call fall until the leaves go and baseball is done.

Could be fairly warm through mid November or you can get snow in October, no real consistency as to when it gets cold

Summer usually ends labor day and the first freeze usually is Oct 15. After rereading it does sound like I was joking but I was totally serious haha. But you are right about it being cold all the time. Not til after Halloween at the earliest. The last 3 late October's we've had snow but it usually melts within the day at that time of the year.

But Labor Day moves specific date every year. How does the summer weather know to change on exactly the same day?? the wonders of science, eh.

Last year it stayed pretty Fall-y and warm well into November - I was still picking tomatoes in early November in my garden. Then sometime 10-ish or a little later it got darn cold, then came back warmish for a few days, and just before ThxGiving it got really cold. And stayed that way until late march.
