While I agree that the outside of Kaufmann house, (FallingWater) is amazing, the interior is just as beautiful. You also have to understand that this is one of the most significant pieces of American architecture, so a $25 admission fee isn't that much.

Don't forget about the other Wright house at Kentuck Knob

not far from Fallingwater.

I agree that Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob are really cool.

In regards to leaves in the area, we lived near Brady's Run Park in Beaver County. My dad always said he couldn't understand why people went up into the mountains to look at leaves, when they could just drive down to Brady's Run. It really is pretty neat; lots of maples.

If you have no kids under eight you also could go to Rolling Hills ranch in Bridgeville and go trail riding (horseback). It is a great way to enjoy the woods and scenery this time of the year.

We drove from NC to see Falling Water. We're both fans of Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture. Falling Water had been on our bucket list for a long time. Should have seen it when I lived in PA., but didn't.

Yes, $25 is not inexpensive, but to see one of the world's premier homes is worth it. The setting and the architecture and interior design is spectacular.

And besides, the Foundation that supports the house needs your bucks to keep the home in good repair...it's a challenge...concrete and water and damp can be a tough mix for stability.

But the setting! Oh my.
