Used to be down to earth up until about 3-4 year ago. The city feels more like a suburb of Philly/DC.

I do not get the Philly/DC aspect of Pittsburgh. To me they feel very different. Can you explain?

I don't get THAT...not at all. A suburb of DC? The question is "are people in Pittsburgh down to earth", not "are people in Pittsburgh judgemental, curt, cold, self-absorbed, fake, self-aggrandizing a-holes".
