The casinos must have lobbied hard for this. I guess young people might flock there around 2 am. People over 35 or so, who are night owls will probably just go there earlier on and stay until whenever. It will be a big revenue boost for them in any case. I wonder if they will take advantage of it by improving the nighttime entertainment in the casinos.

The State Stores will just be selling their wine products to grocery stores to then sell to the customer, so no Trader Joe's products will be in PA. Everything is the same as it is now except there will be grocery stores and such selling the state controlled alcohol. No Trader Joe's alcohol products of any kind will be allowed to compete against the state controlled monopoly.

I stand slightly corrected here folks. I have a lot of connections in this industry as you could imagine. Here is the deal regarding outside folks like Trader Joe's to bring their products here in our state.

1. All products MUSt go through the state wholesale process.
2. Trader Joe's CAN sell to the state and they can buy from the state. This is done in Ohio and it works, but a little more expensive.
3. It is all up to the state to allow this to happen. If they do, you can welcome trader joe's products to the city. If not, it will be the same old same old. I am not sure what will happen.

What connections?

You say you work late. Are you a bartender? Will this have any affect on more products offered? Will Pa sell Everclear again?

You can buy Everclear in PA but it's only something like 150 proof.

It's been years since available in PA. Since when can you buy it again?

Yup, I hop over the PA/OH state line, and buy up some nice ALDI "Winking Owl" wine, I think for $3.99/bottle... Actually very acceptable quality, and right next to the Twizzlers . Price is $1 higher (what the ads say) from other states/locations, I believe because of what you mention. Photo is from the Salem OH, ALDI. Did the same, plus bought beer in Indiana ALDI stores while I lived there... But heck, you could buy hard liquor at grocery stores, drug stores, etc in Indiana. Cheers folks!

Don't know. Just saw it on the shelf last time I was at the store and it surprised me as well. I then read the label and saw it wasn't the 190 proof which is why I assumed it's OK to sell in PA. I think there's only 13 States where you can buy the high-test and IIRC, Indiana is the closest.

The beer distributors are cartels who managed to keep their grips on the industry through graft and corruption.
