Hillman could be worse for a brutalist piece

But I loved Hillman Library! The amount of work you can get done there by finding a nook somewhere in a quiet, less traveled corner of a floor, with a view of Forbes Avenue...and with the resources there, I always enjoyed doing work for my humanities classes.

"Souless"? Been to Benedum Hall???

Hillman is definitely ugly (imo) on the outside, but a wonderful library on the inside.

That's about right, but Thompson Library is nicer both inside and out.

Chaz has been there for decades- he's an institution, not an eyesore.

Exactly!

Can't be too much of an eyesore if the OP just noticed it now...

I don't know about that. CLP has a few special collections PITT would send secret agents to infiltrate for.

Meh.

Most university libraries are well stocked with dry academic stuff and special collections, foreign language material, etc. But the sorts of things most human persons want to take the time to read after college is past? CLP beats any college library I've ever seen.

Is Thompson OSU? When I was in Columbus they had their whole library offloaded into a warehouse back off the Olentangy somewhere. Students couldn't/didn't even get out there. It was horrifying. Glad to hear it if they're finally back on track, library-wise.

But maybe Pittsburgh's got a Thompson library somewhere I just don't know about.
