What are the houses shown assessed at in Allegheny county, once they are sold the tax bill may go to meet the new selling price.

They have these things called apartments. You won't find too many units in Manhatran for under 500k, but plenty of diversity.

Seriously, why wouldn't the DC area be more diverse than Pgh, the largest employer is the government. Firms get contracts by having a diverse workforce.

I agree. I don't get why some people are so shocked Pittsburgh doesn't have the diversity of places like NYC and DC.

I don't think people expect Pittsburgh to have DC/NY diversity, but outside of the city limits, Pittsburgh is the least diverse metro in the country.

While most couldn't care less, it seems anyone that would be concerned would simply choose to locate elsewhere.

403 Granville Place,*Cranberry Township,*PA, 16066 | Cranberry Township Real Estate $749,900 with a $8,307 property tax

Homes in North Allegheny Schools:

607 Ciderberry Dr,*Marshall,*PA, 15090 | Marshall Real Estate
$749,900 with $13,263 property tax

Best advice: always plan (financially) on your taxes going up because at some point they will. It's possible that these numbers are what the current owner pays (at a lower assessment), and the school district will challenge the assessment at the price paid for the home and you'll end up paying higher taxes than what you were expecting to pay.
I just want to thank you for posting a good post. Goodness all this talk about race all the time. How about looking for f'n houses and neighborhoods. Most people DON'T care about the word "diverse", they care more about quality of education and home. People are quite nice around Pittsburgh and way out in Cranberry they are nice as well. I love Zele and would love to live there to be honest, but it isn't a good location for a few reasons. Anyway, your post is great!

Manhattan is only 17% black and it is mostly white and becoming more white as we speak. Enjoy.

Why is diversity the number one topic when the op didn't mention it being on her list. I can't answer her questions because I am nowhere near an expert on the school districts in the north hills.

Haven't you heard? It is the main topic no matter what. It is what everything is all about! RACE!!! RACE!!! Good grief! Most white people don't give a crap about it, why would we? Live in a nice area and raise your kids in a good school. Lots of good schools in our region. We pay teachers higher than anywhere else in the US if you factor in cost of living. Highest paid in the entire US of A. We no doubt have the best schools in the US Enjoy.
