I'm not saying that will happen with Meadows; my crystal ball is broken. However, I can't say that he'll be great either. Think about the guy who accompanied him in the trade. About 2-3 years ago, Glasnow was just as highly regarded as Meadows is now. That certainly hasn't worked out, has it?

Besides, this move makes sense especially if they plan on extending Dickerson past next year (which they should). If they have Dickerson, Marte, and Polanco for the next 2-4 years, what the heck were they going to do with Meadows anyway? He certainly wasn't going to start over any of those three, so his best value to the organization is as trade bait.

It seems like he`s been in the minors for about 10 years. The trade should be good for him too.

I’m in favor of the trade.

“You gotta trade value to get value”. Too bad Huntington didn’t have that mentality after the 2015 season, or at least went out and added talent instead of dumping salary.

Copy that, that's when they lost me for two years. 98 wins, then gut the team, who does that?

Hence they’re on pace for the lowest attendance in PNC Park history.

If they sign Dickerson, Jordan Luplow looks like a good 4th outfielder for the Bucs. Plus Adam Frazier. Meadows has too much upside to sit. He needs to be out there most games. It's good all around.

That’s a big “if”, especially if Dickerson keeps playing so well, he’s going to be very costly. If he doesn’t take the Huntington discount, he’s not likely to be signed to a new contract here.

Bingo. I especially love the players turning it on after Huntington saying the next 8 games will determine what the organization does. No way he could sell.

The bucs are 6 games behind the cubs & Milwaukee & are in 3rd place. They could win the division. Time will tell. Go bucs.
