Is it me or are there just more floods now? The pictures in Upper St. Clair are pretty nuts. People's homes are knocked off their foundation in South Park. I just don't remember this years ago to these levels.

Just a fluke? Could it be homes in compliance more now and dumping it all in runoff make that much difference, or has our weather changed? Obviously it is warmer here now, but man the rains are really wild.

No this year has been mind blowing as far as precipitation. Every rain event seems to include a flood watch. I stopped counting how many days the river walk and mon wharf have been closed this year. We already were 8.5" above precip average in April. It's probably through the roof at this point.

Yesterday was the worst rain storm I've ever been stuck in, and that includes Florida storms.

I was actually looking for more people to have posted after seeing lots of flooding pics. on FB - South Hills, Banksville Rd., Washington, Bridgeville (and a woman was killed!) - just shocking.

Did you see the videos circulating on social media of the VW Beetle being tossed around at the Trolley Stop Inn in Bethel Park?! Pretty wild!

I heard yesterday on the news we are 8" above average for the year so far. The rain last night was torrential here in the South Hills. The Blue Line of the T is still out of service. Glad I didn't go out last night.

There was a guy in Bridgeville on KDKA who showed the water line from last night's flood a good 2 or more feet higher than the Hurricane Ivan flood in 2004.

The South Hills had 3”-4” of rain in about 2-3 hours. Intense.

I took a police report earlier today for a man whose neighbor’s retaining wall and yard collapsed onto his vehicle as he was parking it in his driveway in Overbrook with his wife in the passenger seat. Pretty scary! Luckily they weren’t hurt, but their car was damaged.

Definitely we've been pounded with rain all year, moreso than some other cities. Even Seattle. Seems like any moderate rain we get dumped on and flood watched/warnings. This hasn't happened before that I can remember. Not sure if this is random or the new normal...

We have a friend who lives nearby and she has a catchbasin by the end of her driveway but she is at the lowest level in her housing plan so all the storm runoff flows towards her and the catchbasin. The problem is the borough only has 18 inch drainage pipes and they quickly become overwhelmed and it can't drain fast enough and big flooding occurs. She has spent thousands and thousands of dollars fixing damage, probably more than her house is worth. House never flooded until last year.
