Definitely we've been pounded with rain all year, moreso than some other cities. Even Seattle. Seems like any moderate rain we get dumped on and flood watched/warnings. This hasn't happened before that I can remember. Not sure if this is random or the new normal...
The late 1800s had storms like this that produced deadly flash flooding.

Our February rains rivaled those in the same month of 1887. The Johnstown flood in 1889, though caused by a faulty dam giving way, was preceded by torrential rain in a very wet year. Hundreds were killed by the Butchers Run flood in 1874, another instance of a storm with torrential rain.

Weather is cyclical, but the cycles are beyond living memory.
