Oh please. She is a victim. Let me ask you a question. If it was a black woman that said the same thing, would she have gotten fired? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That says it all. End of argument.

She felt bad reporting never-ending murders of black on black youth over a VERY long period of time. She had a reaction to a MASS shooting in Wilkinsburg and was looking for some hope. She found that hope in a young waiter at a restaurant. It gave her hope. She was exposed to never-ending murder of youth over her years. Way more up close and personal than us. She broke down. She is no doubt a nice person and has feelings like anyone else. She just isn't aloud to express them or she will be fired. In other words, it is better to be fake than real these days. Fake is nice and pretend. Sweep all the murders under the rug. Why not?

Sure whatever you say. Live in the bubble.

Here is exactly what she did...she looked at a black kid and made gross assumptions about him. She has no clue what his story is, but she took it upon herself to narrate what she believes is the standard black experience and attach it to him. And her assumption that what she described is the standard black upbringing is what is the worst part of it all. For all of her experience and exposure to news, sounds like she didn’t leave her Shadyside bubble very often. Does she look at white bus boys and assume they come from opioid riddled families full of old uneducated coal miners...probably not.

Statistics don’t lie. She covered countless black on black murders. Probably 10 to 1 black vs white. How many out of wedlock? She is truthful with the numbers to back her up. Again if a black woman said the same thing no problem.

Anyway living in a fake world is easier. She should have done what most people do after a mass shooting. Shrug thief shoulders and have a latte and pretend it didn’t happen. Why feel at all?

All this and she has money. Once people know you have money you won’t get a fair shake.

She was fired for alienating 25% of Pittsburgh`s population. Simple as that. WTAE like every other channel is running a for profit business.

Any links to back up that she alienated 25% of Pittsburgh’s population?

CBS is also running a for profit business. If she truly alienated that many people they wouldn’t have hired her.

You cannot give Reputation to the same post twice.

I would imagine they knew she has a good heart and is a caring nice person that actually tells it like it is.

I think her style is over as people don't really want a truthful type of news, they want more of an agenda/hyped style these days. That way people can watch the hyped up crap that is in line with their echo-chamber. If you are ultra left and want to think everything is horrible, you wants NPR that is completely bias, but appeals to the depressed and desperate. If you want ultra-left hyped up crap that is completely fabricated CNN is a good bet. If you like a more balanced approach Chris Wallace is someone you can watch, but he is anti-Trump pretty hard. WPXI is probably our most hyped up local channel. Wendy was just too honest for today's snowflakes. You have to walk a VERY fine line if you want to keep your job if you are a white affluent successful person, because the ultra left wants you fired and hates you. Just the way things are these days. The ultra left hates successful people it seems. Odd.

It was years ago when Wendy covered a story about Gettysburg National Military Park trying to find a buyer for an electric battlefield map that had been in the Visitor Center for decades but was no longer needed at the new VC. This map weighed a couple tons and was loaded with asbestos and they just wanted to be rid of it. The asking price was $5. This dingbat who knew nothing about it and the fact that the map had been seen by presidents, Nikita Khrushchev and plenty of other world leaders (Ike lived in Gettysburg and took his guests and dignitaries there frequently) thought the story was hilarious. No one at the station had the sense to tell her about this historic map so she came back with the same story the next day and laughed about it again. I was embarrassed for her.
