Ordered delivery last night from El Burro on Federal Street here in the North Side. It was good!

What are some of your favorite local places to order delivery and/or take-out from right now?

Japan FTW. A couple of trillion dollars just won't cut it for a country this size.

We are all in the midst of an unusual circumstance right now, but one thing never changes: businesses need to know they’re remembered and valued. You’ve probably already done all the practical things, but now it’s time to go for the heart with acts of support and understanding. Restaurants, retailers, and all kinds of small businesses are heroically facing the crisis with carryout, delivery, and online shopping options, but many need funding right now to help them get through this. Please help us support them and we’ll include an added bonus right on top that will go directly to the small businesses you love.

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and Strip District Neighbors are teaming up to provide funds for the Gift Card Give Back Initiative. For a limited time, for every gift card you purchase through this site, we'll add an extra 25% bonus, with revenue going right to your favorite businesses.

How it works
1. Browse by category or search by vendor above
2. Select a gift card in increments of $25 (up to $100)
3. Check out through our secure form
4. Save your receipt that includes your 25% bonus (while program funds are available)
5. We send the vendor your total purchase + 25%. Within 7-14 days, you receive either a traditional gift card, digital gift card, or instructions from the vendor on how to redeem (including your added bonus).

Sorry, got misled off topic but we as people can do our part by:
1. Wash clothes daily or hang in the sun for 15 minutes.
2. Shoes off at the door.
3. Stay home until seasonal change. (Memorial Day)
4. Avoid hospitals and clinics. Nosocomial infections are real.
5. Get rid of all junk in our houses, but don't drop it off at Goodwill. Dispose of properly.
6. Have groceries delivered.
7. Stay off the buses and trains.
8. and the list goes on...

Thank you Rosie, the Queen of Corona.

Other than having groceries delivered, how is this supporting local businesses

Default Return of Corona in September would be the final blow...

We all get healthy and it's business as usual. The stable small businesses survive, the questionable ones don't. Spending and social habits will change and this could bad for the crowded restaurant market. I'm just afraid that the return of Corona in September would be the final blow to the small businesses. Seasonal flu shot won't help and there won't be a vaccine yet. What we are doing is worse than what Sweden is doing. Their solution seems permanent. We are kicking the can down the road. Already we are talkin' about when, not if, the second wave will hit. Let us disinfect our way to mutation and then what? What if it starts ligoniering out on us? What is going to happen to our water supply?

I don’t recall anyone asking for everything to be opened up, especially without safety procedures put in place.

What if safety precautions are put in place by the so called “experts” before businesses no longer exist and it works?

Are places selling giftcards for later redemption?

What if you were able to tamp out local transmission with a slightly extended lockdown to the point where contact tracing and isolation was easily done, but are foregoing being able to do such by opening up too early and allowing for another run of uncontrolled spreading which would mean a much more extended and disastrous drop of commercial activity? What if “amateurs” are acting like “experts” have the definitive answers rather than trying to advise the most reasonable choice with the information known at the moment?
