The regular curmudgeons here literally can't pass up an opportunity to tell you how crime infested they believe the City is from the looking glass of their sleepy suburban "communities". We're all used to it here, hope you got something positive out of this thread. For the record, I'd move to Ben Avon ion a heartbeat if the timing was right. Good luck!

I had no idea you relocated! Best wishes wherever you are now! We may be following in your footsteps eventually.

I can honestly tell you one thing as I know a lot of people up there. You will LOVE it and you would LOVE it where I live as well. You being a gay man with a partner would be extremely welcome. I know first hand. I hope you can someday. Fun hearing your growth. I am starting to turn into a prune, so kind of boring. lol

I think it was a pretty good thread, even with some tit-for-tat political back-and-forth. One might even argue (if one was feeling particularly cheeky) that the question is inherently "political," even if the original poster (as I believe) did not intend it to be so.

Having spent the first twenty years of my life in the South Hills, I didn't know much about the North Hills besides Ross Park Mall being relatively expensive. I moved to the North Hills after about two years of looking for a new place to live in the Pittsburgh Area, and Gibsonia is probably the nicest area overall. I even like it better than Fox Chapel, for what that is worth!

Gibsonia is very nice. My brother lives there and the kids go to Pine-Richland so we would be there for events and got around the area quite a bit. I had in-laws in Fox Chapel. The seclusion and quietness is excellent, but I wouldn’t want to live there.
