Well the man shot in the middle of the day downtown died. I am sure the first responders did the best they could.

pittsburgh city-data's #1 thread - created by erieguy, continually updated by erieguy

pittsburgh must be the most violent city in the world - i had no idea our epic violence was such a popular topic

there needs to be a rule on this site

if your mailing address is not within the city limits, then you are not allowed to post or comment on the city-data pittsburgh thread

pittsburgh has enough problems without having dudes from wexford or wherever making our city look bad by continually propping up a thread about over-hyped violence here

if you live outside the city then go find another forum to hijack with your bad news

it's like every time i come here the first thing i see is 5 PEOPLE SHOT WITHIN 24 HOURS

WHICH HAPPENED OVER A YEAR AGO, but here it's the perpetual headline

this site is stupid

Certainly not the most violent city in the world, but it continues to get worse as we see shootings and murders continue to rise.

You must be unaware that folks from all over the Pittsburgh area visit the city often and sometimes everyday as they work there, hence not just those within the city limits are affected. How are homicides going back to 2014 levels over-hyped violence?

Overall (by the data) our crime statistics are not as bad as other cities of our size. It is concerning, no doubt. But it isn’t crazy that people need to fear for their lives the moment they walk out of the house.

It's violence porn for the nonresidents here. It's their way of looking down on everybody who actually lives in the Pittsburgh city limits. You know, "look at yinz living in this democrat run city! yinz deserve it! So glad I live in Florida!" yadda yadda..
