750 new apartment for lawrenceville - finally someone is planning to build new apartments there

Curtain call: Redevelopment proposed for 31st Street Studios

https://www.post-gazette.com/busines...s/202304260119

"A massive redevelopment featuring as many as 750 residential units could replace sound stages used for films and TV shows at the 31st Street Studios in the Strip District.

North River Company will brief the Pittsburgh Planning Commission next week on a proposed master plan for the 9.4-acre site bordering Railroad and 32nd streets and the Allegheny River.

As part of the plan, North River eventually intends to phase out the eight sound stages now in use at the site, according to property manager Jace Armentrout."

It's ridiculous that local residents are complaining about getting "pushed out" when ELDI is building new for-sale homes on an empty portion of East Liberty Boulevard.

Has Hollywood stopped using Pittsburgh for filmmaking? I couldn't read the article. The Strips is just so loud I don't know how anyone could live there. Especially those morons playing marching drums all weekend.

The drums are limited to the commercial area that closes pretty early. Most of the residential units are far removed from the street drummers. Most residents would be unbothered.

I don't get the asking price for this. Even if it was on Grandview Ave. Love the house but really?

No problem with the price. That is sweet and someone will pay for it.
