I would think that it'd lend itself quite nicely towards an Art Gallery. . . . .

Its very dark in there, and the floor has alot of hidden holes, I do NOT reccommend going into it (mostly because its ILLEGAL) and more so because its DANGEROUS. let me see if I can find the pictures i took
If you do find them please send them to me. I'd love to check them out. And I agree, it does look like it served as a hotel or apartments at one point.

The Ritz is my Fave hotel chain I love to see them come to Pittsburgh. The Ritz in Philly, where I am from is Grand. I had my wedding there and it was once a Bank and just out of this world.

The Edge restaurant.....Brings back romantic memories.

Bumping this up. They're finally tearing this place down. I'm living on Mt. Washington now, I walked down beside it the other day and some guy came out of another building and started yelling about trespassing, blah blah. I will try and get some pics as they demo it.

I've been in this building a few times as well. It is very nice. There is a large (paint) advertisement on the side that has the old name of it i believe. I can't remember now. The architecture would lend itself to be one of the best clubs in the city. It's very open on the inside and there are little private balconies that would make it very "personal" on the inside. As for the graffiti, it is amazing! As a previous post said, it is dangerous to go inside. You basically have to scale the front of it and the bricks have mold (slippy) growing. I hope they don't do anything with it. They should keep it for the squatters to enjoy.

The property overlooking Pittsburgh ought to be bought up and redeveloped for tourism and entertainment.

Maybe put up Pittsburgh's version of the Skylon?
