I don't get it, either. . . okay, so it was a direct and immature statement to make, but having grown up with rivalries such as Texas-OU and Texas-Texas A&M, this towel-stomping thing is relatively tame in comparison....

Now, if they'd burned Hines Ward in effigy.... I could take offense to THAT... but the towel has been used as a 'weapon" by the fans against opposing teams for many years... so, how can we say its not fair for them to take it and turn it around to use AGAINST our team????

I don't expect you to get it because you are a Cowboys fan. I'll defend that Towel until the day I die.

That towel stands for a lot more than just The City of Pittsburgh and it's beloved sports team. Phoenix's Mayor just recently pretended to blow his nose with it, threw it on the ground, then stomped on it. I hope the curse strikes again.

Yeah, I heard about that. Our mayor said on the news last night that the mayor of Phoenix called to apologize....TOO LATE! The curse of the towel WILL strike again and the cinderella team will turn into pumpkins at the stroke of midnight!

That towel absolutely stands for more than just the Steelers or Pittsburgh. If you aren't from Pittsburgh, you will NEVER understand the importance of the small yellow towel we wave at games. To dishonor it and stomp on it is very disheartening to all Steelers and their fans.

When Myron Cope died, in his will he bequeathed all the profits from the Terrible Towel sales to a charity/school for diabled children in western PA. His son lived at that school.

Stomping on the towel should be classified as a hate crime!
