Citizens Review Board. To my knowledge, it is still around. Plus you have OMI (Office of Municipal Investigations) which is basically the Internal Affairs office.

The city is pretty clean. You get an officer who might get a little abusive with a hood every so often and gets reported, but other than that.

It all depends on the color of your skin. Some African-Americans don't like the city of Pittsburgh police department and others do. That is why there is a citizens review board set up in response to problems like police brutality and what not. Also, check around more and more police departments are requiring its applicants to have an associates degree or two years of college usually in criminal justice. That is probably why IUP and CCAC have the joint partnership to get a bachelors degree in criminal justice out at the Monroeville Expo because they see the need for officers growing and the associates isn't going to cut it in another ten years or more. Sorry I once worked in education and the trend in a lot of fields is like that. But, some departments in suburbs and rural communities aren't always like that so check with the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare which I believe the department of corrections and law enforcement information is if you want information about the state requirements. Also, a website called rate my cop.com is out there but, law enforcement officials across the country want this site shut down. It is like stop the snitchin'.com but, is a whole lot worse. I have relatives in law enforcement and corrections in another state and they clued me in on the requirements for their jobs. But, they have or will received associates so just letting you know.

Good Luck.
