the kid who's on video being photographed with the police has come forward:

The reluctant poster boy

he said he was too frightened to say no to the police when they asked to take a picture with him, and didn't expect them to make him kneel.

he also said he didn't want to become "a symbol", but he does think what happened to him was wrong and has hired a lawyer.

i heard about the guy getting arrested for twittering the police's movements - it seems strange to me that twittering about or otherwise repeating the publicly available police scanner information could be illegal.

and they seized a picture of karl marx?

There is a whole bunch of First Amendment case law on this subject, but the bottom line is that if they had a specific criminal purpose for twittering that information (e.g., knowingly trying to help people evade arrest), they could in fact be in trouble.
