Out of habit, I've always been a Post Gazette reader.

However, the more I'm exposed to Tribune Review's articles, the more I'm beginning to believe the Tribune Review is the better newspaper.

Is it just me who thinks the Trib has better reporting and more detailed articles?

The trib seems to have a far right slant to me. I greatly prefer the Post Gazette.

I generally think of the Post Gazette as "Pittburgh's newspaper" and the Tribune Review as the "East suburbs and rural areas newspaper."

In my opinion, the Post-Gazette has a slight left slant while the Tribune Review has slightly stronger right slant like John said.

In terms of articles, the Trib might have a wider breadth of topics and coverage, but the PG has more well-written and thorough articles.

I read the paper online (yep, I'm killing newspapers) and the Trib's site is really clunky.

I used to read the Post Gazette for a number of years until I got tired of the left wing points of view. I was hesitant to try the Trib because I had always thought it served mostly the eastern suburbs of the city. But when I started getting the Pittsburgh Trib, I found it covered all of Pittsburgh and the suburbs equally. I really enjoy the Trib now and would never go back to the Post Gazette. Sure, the Trib is more to the right politcally, but since most of the media I see is left wing, it's a nice change!

I'm killing newspapers too. I read the P-G online. (I had a run in with their subscription service about a dozen years ago and vowed never to subscribe again. I haven't.) I don't care for Mr Scaife's (owner of the Trib) antics, but I'm not above reading a Trib article if they get certain news online first or picking up the silly free "Trib PM" tabloid.

There's no denying that in editorial leanings and opinion content there's a significant difference.

In terms of better articles, I don't know. I don't believe either is the clear winner there.

Post Gazette, mainly because the Trib seems to cater to the Greensburg area more than Pittsburgh as a whole.

I read newspapers online. I don't really have a preference for either newspaper- unless I'm reading an editorial!

However, every time I've actually paid for a newspaper, it was for the Post-Gazette.

Trib, hands down. The Post is fluff and propaganda.

That's funny you say that because I've heard people accuse the Trib of the exact same thing!

I'm not one to say so, but I'm just pointing out that I've observed this.
