Yes, until I read these forums, I always thought of terms like northeast, mid-atlantic, and mid-west as describing geographic locations not cultural views. It might be true that on average there tend to be cultural differences within these groupings, but I never thought of classifying a location outside of its true geographic location just because its culture arguably was different.

This is my impression too. I have never heard anyone who spends significant time in the area try to claim it's the Midwest.

Not one radio station in Pittsburgh had the class to play Bob and Doug`s Twelve Days Of Christmas. It`s the only version of that song that isn`t highly annoying.
