Half kidding. So many complain about nothing to do on this board, so take a trip to Greensburg. I spent quite a few nights in that town years ago and hadn't been back in ages. Saturday night we went to the Greensburg Palace theater to see the guys from Whose Line is it Anyhow? Any fans here. Worth the bucks and the theater has been restored and looks great. Kind of like a mini-Benedum. Parked on the street about a block away, stopped for 3 drinks at a local establishment: 6 bucks with tip!!! Woo-hoo!!!

I wanted to see Social Distortion when they came to Greensburg but their show at the Palace was sold out. It's nice to see a small town getting the recognition it deserves over the last few years, it really is an underrated area and low taxes as well.

Also has one of the most sophisticated and well ran 911 emergency dispatch centers around!
I always love taking a drive and visiting/shopping out that way too.

When I worked for a construction company out of Bardstown Ky and helped build the Lowes Store up in Hempfield Twp, we frequented a bar along Rt 30 called The Great Escape.

My boss liked the place so much - we went there for a couple of nights after work and put in the dance floor - after hours. I see they now have a deck where you can hang out outside of the main bar - inside.

I never went to the bowling alley below the bar, but the food and the drinks at the bar were always good.

There are loads of good acts appearing at the Palace Theatre.

We will be there next for the Clarks.

Two of the best shows we saw there were Joe Bonnamassa (WOW!), and Ian Anderson doing acoustic Tull.
Buddy Guy swings through all the time.... I think we saw him three times there.

Social D was at the Ches Arena in Cheswick, not Greensburg (sorry to nit-pick)

Wish there was somewhere in Pittsburgh for them to go.

Hey, do a road trip. It took us 55 minutes from the Hampton Turnpike exit to our seats. Sunday we went to the City Theatre and it took 40.

Greensburg is a cool area.

I didn't know they were at the Ches-A-Rena but they were in Greensburg about a year or so ago.
