Jimmy John's doesn't do it for me. I can go to a generic pizza joint and get a better hoagie.

That sounds even worse. Also, there's a BIG difference between using Miracle Whip and Hellmann's regular mayonnaise on cole slaw. I prefer the former for coleslaw while I prefer the latter when I put it on burgers or when I make ranch sauce.

He wasn't that far off the mark. All of Pabst stock is held by the Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation which donates primarily to Catholic causes. However, the foundation vastly understated the value of its holdings which did not make the IRS very happy, so they've ordered the sale of Pabst. The foundation has until the end of this year to find a buyer.

AFAIK, the two largest domestically owned breweries are 1) Boston Beer Co and 2) Yuengling
is this not true?

Hmm... well the relationship between Miller, Molson and Coors is pretty complicated. Molson and Coors merged, and the merged company is still incorporated in the U.S. though apparently most of its management functions are carried out in Canada. Meanwhile, SABMiller didn't buy Coors as some think; they've entered into a marketing agreement for their U.S. operations; that marketing arm is MillerCoors. So I suppose by the barest definition Coors is still an American company that just happens to have Canadian/British/South African elements. Or something. Next after that is Pabst. If you don't count them since they have no brewing capacity of their own, then yes it's BBC and Yuengling.

just as an FYI, Pabst has been sold

though the question of whether owning a brand really constitutes being a brewery is still up for debate.

Well, a deal has been reached at any rate but it hasn't been completed/consummated yet. Pabst has been in that boat before so hopefully it'll go through this time.
