Will they alienate potential Black voters or supporters? Or does it not matter since only 2% of Tea party supporters are Black, and the few that are detest the NAACP.
I'd say if you're black and you still support the NAACP, then you're pretty much irrelevant. So who cares if they alienate NAACP supporters? They weren't coming out to vote for conservatives anyway.
Maybe you're right. The people who support the NAACP have no interest in owning up to the racism in their ranks. They just like to call others racist.
And they won't have to.
If the Tea Party tries to take on the NAACP on its own turf, it's going go badly for the Tea Party.
The best reaction from the Tea Party would have been to politely disagree, downplay the story, and provide some evidence to the contrary in a non-confrontational manner.
Confrontation is exactly what the NAACP wants, and they're probably going to get it, since the defining characteristic of the average Tea Party supporter is an unfailing tendency to not know when to shut the hell up.
NAACP makes an official stand that the Tea Parties are racists.
thus the Tea Parties are attacking NAACP?
Im lost. somebody explain this to me.
