Maybe you arent understanding what took place here..
Person A violated the law, person B was punished.. Tell me where the law says you can punish person B because person A violated copyright laws? They more than likely dont even know each other existed, its like me speeding, and a cop in another state pulling you over and giving you the ticket for it..
Person B had a free website at blogetery.com (person A). Blogetery rents a server from Burstnet. If blogetery didn't pay it's server bill then Burstnet would shut down the server - with no obligation to keep blogerty's client's websites up. Burstnet has no obligation to blogetery's clients in this copyright situation either.
If the police shut down a shady bricks-and-mortar store - they have no obligation to keep it open for the nogoodnic's customers.

Yes but again the difference is.. did the webserver shut down the sites, or did the federal government?
If the webserver shut them down, I have no issue with it.. If the federal government did, then I do.. The fact that the sites were free is meaningless, because even if they were paid sites, the obligation ends at the end of payment due, and its a civil issue, not a criminal one..
From the above link..copies of correspondence sent out by wordpress to the blog owner:
"Bn.xx*********** was terminated by request of law enforcement officials, due to material hosted on the server. We are limited as to the details we can provide to you, but note that this was a critical matter and the only available option to us was to immediately deactivate the server."
And a further one:
"Please note that this was not a typical case, in which suspension and notification would be the norm. This was a critical matter brought to our attention by law enforcement officials. We had to immediately remove the server."
According to some sources, they think there is more to this story than some copyright violations. Some suggest terrorism and child pornography could be the reason for such drastic actions.
