Honestly, if you are a Chicago cop and think this is a stupid idea that's one thing, otherwise you, me, etc. really have no clue. I say they can do whatever it takes...and I'm not going to mock them for trying everything and exploring all avenues.
If they were actually trying something rather then a publicity stunt then it would be great.

The Chicago Gangbangers are just a reflection of
their mentors, Chicago Politicians & Community Organizers
and soon the GOVERNMENT will come to the rescue
with lots and lots of money for more and more programs

Do you really think Obama would let this happen to his
very own hometown

Hey I bet Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton & Jeremiah Wright
could talk to the Gangbangers they too have so much
in common and they are pretty good at this stuff even
more so if the media shows up !

It's a way of saying that the gangbangers have prevailed. I'm very tough on crime. I think a State of Emergency needs to be declared in this country. The Death Penalty should take on new meaning and be immediately utilized. Street gangs should be classified as "Domestic Terrorists" and their crimes elevated to the highest status, punishable by immediate execution. All gang members would be part of a conspiracy to commit domestic terrorism, and they all are responsible for the crimes that ANY of them commits. So if one gang member is convicted of murder, they ALL are guilty. As soon as the one is convicted, he is immediately led to the next room where is unceremoniously executed. He is then cremated. The rest of his co-conspirators are rounded up and after being found guilty, immediately suffer the same fate.

The only way to rid ourselves of the street gang problem is to eliminate these ignorant savages rather than wasting resources that could be better spent finding a cure for Cancer or Alzheimers or educating those who want to learn but can't afford to go to the best schools. Locking them up is wholly ineffective.

In 2003 Chicago was the KILLING Capitol.
Their crime was 3 times worse than NYC!
Guess where it is stemming from Housing Projects! This was on the show Gangland.

When you have Senators like obama wanting punishment lessened on gang members that use guns what the hell do you expect!

I don't see anyone coming to the rescue. They didn't come in the 90's, they aren't coming now.

People should not be released from jail depending on if the city has money or not or prison if the state has money or not. They need more cops on the streets and not taken from another area. Because it doesn't take too long for the gangbangers or any other criminal to realize that an area is wide open. They need more funding for parole and probation to keep an eye on them after release.

You know, when you have a 17 year old that was arrested for armed robbery and at some point released and is on probation and hasn't been to court or heard from his probation officer in 6 months then it doesn't do a damned bit of good. There are people in communities that march and do what they can as well as those that keep there mouth shut because everyone they encounter is a gang banger and it is a matter of negotiating their way through it.

And, people need to realize that death is not a requirement in LE. They have families, too. Nailin' people on circumstancial evidence can be a waste of money. Which begs the question, if you have enough money to knowingly risk getting a case thrown out of court then why don't you have the money to do it right the first time?

sounds like you need to watch something other then Gangland to find out facts.

For one, in 2003 New Orleans was the murder capitol not Chicago. Also, many of the large housing projects have been torn down. Then you have the fact that many of these neighborhoods that have the high murder rates do not have any set of housing projects in them.

to be fair its not that the cops dont care, its just that the folks that call them to come out are so often the same ones that file the law suit.

On "Gangland" they once made a reference to a building being on "north Chicago Ave", but Chicago Ave runs east-west. And there's no "North Chicago Ave" either. You can believe the show, or look up the statistics for yourself. I think they're easy to find.
