Since he's done nothing for peace so far he's still got just as much if not more potential than he had last year right?

Nah. They'll probably give it to Roman Polanski.

The nominations are kept secret for 60 years unless the person who nominates the potential Peace Prize winner goes public about their nomination ; e.g. the Swiss professor who nominated Tookie Williams or Jose Maria Aznar nominating George W. Bush for the Peace Prize.

Any politician, professor, or past Nobel Laureate can nominate someone for the Peace Prize.(Maybe Michelle Bachmann will nominate Glenn Beck for the Prize ): ) Some of the past nominees for the Peace Prize are rather hilarious ; Mussolini was nominated a few times, and Stalin was nominated once.

The Prize lost credibility when Kissinger got it.

I really thought the Nobel Peace Prize committee learned a lesson when they gave the award to Kissinger.

However, they repeated their stupidity.

It's Al Gore's turn this year. Obama will have to wait until next year when Iran gets to pick one of the nominees.
