I've seen this movie before.

1994 & 2006.

Just didn't imagine I would see another sequal so quickly in 2010.

Regardless of your pro or anti bias against one party.

I believe " Most" ( i say most because some are just way way out there), will agree that the Only hope for these democrats to " Minimize" their Ugly defeat in November is thru their democratic base & left leaning independents.

Republicans would Never vote for Democrats. And right leaning Independent voters will Not Vote for democrats this November no matter what Obama does from now until November.

Poll after Poll, Gallup, Rasmussen & Quinnipiac ALL show the SAME story as 1994 & 2006. A very depressed, unmotivated, uninspired " Base" & Indie leaning voters . In this case, democrats & those dem leaning indies.

In 2006, the GOP base was depressed. So was right leaning Indies.

In 1994, it was theDem base that was out.

Florida, was a PERFECT case in point as explained by Gallup.

Florida has 900,000 more registered democrats than Republicans. On primary day last week, 1.2 million republican voters showed up. Only 880,000 democrats showed up. This scenario was repeated in 3 other primary states. More GOP showed up than Dems despite a larger dem registration.

If Obama plays it safe & does NOTHING to SHAKE it up between now until November- THIS WILL BE VERY UGLY for Dems !

He needs Liberals in November or it will be devastating.

There is No Way Dems can turn this around because of the horrible Economy.
But they can still " Reduce" or Minimize the losses IF Obama advisers wake up & realize that trying to play nice with Republicans at this point will NOT win any GOP converts. He will need to do Drastic, Bold Moves, that will get his Dem base off the couch. Otherwise ? Real Ugly November

P.S. Politics goes it cycles. All reports state the once the GOP takes control in November, they plan to have MASSIVE Investigations of the White House. Others are planning a Govt' Shutdown as promised by GOP consultant Dick Morris. All this rewards & excites the GOP base.

Problem with that is....? This is exactly what will Awake the Democratic base & left leaning Indies. ( just in time for 2010 )

We need a 3rd party because things will never change. Both parties will never learn.

Conservatives have always been more passionate about their politics than Liberals. The problem with this is that Liberals are far more hasty to take their ball and go home to pout. That's what's happening right now. Obama is a disappointment. Democrats in Congress are out of touch. What does that leave Liberals? Not much. So when you combine an abject failure of Democratic leadership with an abject level of apathy, you have a Democratic base that would rather sit on the porch and blame white, racist, conservatives for their plight then actually get out and do something about it.

Conservatives will always have a net upper hand in this country as long as the Democratic constituency's thinly-veiled concern for this nation is predicated by apathy.

Yes Aero.

Even during the darkest hours of the Bush administration, a clear majority of the GOP base came out & still ended up voting GOP. It was actually a combination of strong independent voters & an angry democratic base that gave dems two consecutive landslides. But in fairness to the GOP base, particularly the religious right & conservatives- they did NOT CROSSOVER & remained loyal.

Conservatives will attack a GOP politician BUT more often than not, they will STICK with their party come general elections.

Liberals will attack a Dem politician who they deem moderate or DINO. And come general election, they have a much higher tendency to stay home REGARDLESS of any consequences. Even if it mean losing power.

The typical GOP base has very powerful idealogy in them particularly when it comes to the religious Pro-Life base. It is simply avery loyal & Reliable group of GOP voters.

The GOP base also has an edge in that it has a higher fraction of people used to waking up every day and going to work or opening the shop and taking action to get the results they desire. The Dem base has a higher fraction of people who are used to waiting for somebody to hand them what they want. So guess which group shows up for mid-term elections?
