The US refers to itself as the arsenal of democracy....

Lots of people refer to them as soldiers of some cause.

Show me VIOLENCE on HIS part.
Where is this thread has anyone excused the violent acts of extremists? The problem with Terry Jones---still the topic of this thread, by the way---is that he doesn't recognize himself as an advocate for hate and violence that could escalate to harm Americans around the world.

Well it is all over the news internationally now. Besides everyday people, leaders and celebrities are getting involved.

Perhaps you should expect muslims to not react violently? Or is that asking too much?

I talked to some Russian journalists last night, and the ABC news crew was hanging out with them.

Are you serious?

Are you going to tell me that people involved in a panic would be charged with murder if they trampled someone to death?

You're going to say that's the same level of culpability for the personw ho actually killed someone as someone getting furious as the result of a book being burned, then decapitating someone as a result of it?

Even in the case of the panic, the person who falsely shouted "fire" would not get treated nearly as harshly be the legal system as the muslim who beheads someone. Not the same cupability, yet you're trying to equate the two as if they are both the same exact thing...

Negligent or reckless endangerment is NOT the same is deliberate/purposefull/intetional homicide.

Where were the liberals condemning that atheist college group in Texas that collected bibles to be trashed or burned for pornography (which even many feminists view as offensive)? Isnt that similar to what this preacher is doing? Arent they both meant for attention grabbing to antagonize the other side and to desperately gain converts to their own side? Why it it ok when atheists antagonize other faiths but when a Christian does it then there is all of a sudden a controversy?

Why should there be a double standard? Why is it ok for atheists to be antagonizing with men like Hitchens but not for other religions to do the same? It seems the real double standard is that many fear Christianity while they tolerate Islam and atheism.

Where were the liberals complaining when that professor in Minnesota publicly desecrated a Catholic communion host? Isnt that an act of intolerance that is on par or worse than burning a Koran? Where were liberals and atheists to condemn him for being intolerant or insensitive to Catholics who view the communion host as God himself?

This is a media driven event. One man and TWENTY of his surviving congregants are doing so. The media is driving this drama. This should never have gotten anywhere as big as it has. If there wasnt a media looking to stir stuff up this wouldnt be an issue. The problem here is the media that gives such a moron the time of day. The media doesnt report on suicides very often for fear of encouraging more. Why not do this for religious nutcases like this moron? The media is the problem here. This issue would have died a quick death in this tiny church if the media didnt bite and take up the story of a lone wacko.

Liberals!! Ugh...
They burn our flag all of the time and liberals support them, so a muslim burning bible would be ok with a liberal too, they would probably even give the muslim the matches.

Personally I couldn't care what people burned, flags or religious books. I'm not religious and a flag is a piece of cloth...many times made in flippin China. I do however think this dangerous clown should be aware of what his actions could result in, but that would be giving him too much credit.

Burn a Koran if you have to, but do it in your back yard where nobody can see you.
