Billboards shun religion, promote separation of church and state *| ajc.com

They basically say "there is probably no God"

Liberals applaud this.

Now imagine they said "there is probably no Allah" which is the same exact thing, liberals would throw fits, and muslims would threaten violence.

Explain the double standard.

Thanks.

In my mind there is not double standard. Neither religion is a valid spiritual alternative to me personally. Also while I believe in god I don't believe in any organized religion. God is simply that ultimate creative force in the Universe. The laws of the universe are written in nature, and science.

We already see this mindset at work.
For example, tell a liberal that their god Obama is no president and watch the frothing, stuttering and stammering begin.

I don't know what you are going on about. I oppose all fundies, no matter what religion they crawl out of.

However, there is freedom of religion in this country...that means Muslims have every bit as much right to practice their faith as all you self righteous holier than thou Christians..

Because Judeo-Christian values that the country was based and built upon as was the constitution is wrong in the libs eyes. They condemn and want to change what this great country was founded on. They believe that by dividing us by our religion, our economic status <the rich are> bad will help in they fundemental change of America. They realize that they are making the majority of people upset and they believe that political correctness is protecting them. I think the tides are turning but that is just me. I can't wait to read what others think about this. Great question. (I support the freedom of all religions, as long as the religion doesn't say to kill someone else in the name of God!) I have a problem with crossing the "thou shall not kill" line.

Well, the "separation of church and state" part is merely an extension of what this country stands for. The anti-religious stuff is just in bad taste. It's sad to see so many examples of disrespect.

I guess you have never driven through Kansas or Oklahoma. One can't drive anywhere around here without a giant billboard promoting a Christian agenda. Be it anti-abortion, abstinance only, marriage, or anti-planned parenthood. They are everywhere around here.

There are many things I dislike in advertising and/or marketing. I don't like those tee-shirts geared for teen-aged girls that say demeaning things about girls. I dislike seeing clothing designers dress pre-teen girls up like adults, and then make commercials that imply their sexuality. But it sells! Even to Christians!!! So we put up with it.

If you don't like the billboards that's too bad. If they're paying for the advertising then they have the right to be there just as much as the fetus sucking its thumb, or the pre-teen girl dressed to look like an adult.

There are better battles to be fought.
