And what does all this scandal have to do with the left/liberals? The same DWP practices, union corruption, big spending, high salaries, and government inefficiencies were still present during the Bush era. Government belongs to EVERYONE. Yet nobody, conservative or liberal, lifted a finger.

It's a convenient excuse to blame everything on the liberals since it is associated with "big government" and "stimulus". In fact the very concept of a stimulus for the corporations and large banking industries resonate more with conservative economic policy, historically. So the conservatives who are pissed about the stimulus are pissed at their own party. Had Obama given the stimulus directly to the people of the USA then it would be more of a traditional liberal fiscal policy.

If there was any evidence that conservatives even attempted to change the system in previous years, I would maybe buy that this is an issue with liberals. Obama is the only pres who has lambasted wall street and banks for their shady practices so far. But of course, conservatives complained and said that there were too many government controls being imposed on wall street/banks (uhhh... what got us into this mess in the first place?)... meaning they were on the side of the very criminals who got the stimulus.

Not that I agree with any of this stimulus ... but it is doubtful that any previous conservative leadership even gave half a shiot about corruption, inefficient govt, and greed.
