So, they've received less than 20% of their stimulus, and you're declaring a failure. Funny, though I'm sure those people who have had their jobs saved/created so far would disagree with you. And those who WILL have jobs that still have to be created, will disagree with you as well.

But since Republican's are intimate with failure I'm sure you think you know what you're talking about. However, it may just be the surface and the obstruction that Republican's are putting up that you're recognizing as the failure.

Default Stimulus jobs in LA cost $2 million each

Yes, let's do another one of these Obama stimulus things..... at $2 million each, these must be very nice jobs.

By IB Times Staff Reporter | September 17, 2010 3:41 AM EDT

The Los Angeles City Controller said on Thursday the city's use of its share of the $800 billion federal stimulus fund has been disappointing.

The city received $111 million in stimulus under American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) approved by the Congress more than year ago.

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," says Wendy Greuel, the city's controller, while releasing an audit report.

"With our local unemployment rate over 12% we need to do a better job cutting red tape and putting Angelenos back to work,” she added.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works generated only 45.46 jobs (the fraction of a job created or retained correlates to the number of actual hours works) after receiving $70.65 million, while the target was 238 jobs.

Similarly, the city’s department of transportation, armed with a $40.8 million fund, created only 9 jobs in place of an expected 26 jobs.

Disappointing? Not to the people who got the money, they are so frikkin "not dissappointed"!

And we have Brown going after the City of Bell city hall for pumping their salaries. I think Jerry better think about staying in as AG of CA until he can figure out how to get that right before trying to be the Governor.

When $40M is needed to reach a goal of 26 jobs then you know something is horribly wrong. I could create 100 jobs for 5 years on that budget, with more to come over those 5 years. Political morons mismanaging money.

Do the math on how much cash the feds could have simply GIVEN away to the estimated 12 million unemployed people, for the cost of the $3 trillion in deficits 0bama has spent, it is sickening. Hell, just do the math for $1.5 trillion for this year alone.

Corruption is corruption, ineptness is ineptness. Spin is spin.
