Public education system
Medicare
Medicaid
Labor unions
FDIC

All of these things have been opposed by conservatives, and in the long run, they lost. Can anyone argue with the fact that liberalism always (or usually) wins?

Conservative ideas will always brush up against the universal truth that things change. Hence, conservative ideas, specifically those that fight any forward movement, are doomed. Liberal ideas are born out of embracing the concept of change and represent the only rational approach. This doesn't mean that liberal ideas are always right or even better, just that there will always be enough of them to assure eventual success. Conservatives won't offer new ideas and they are distrustful of compromise. They are too busy complaining about the change around them to consider for a second that such change is not only necessary, but ultimately inevitable.

Great response. I've often wondered how conservatives deal with life in a free society such as ours that is always striving toward giving its citizens more rights and more freedom. I would think it would be hellish for them. They must have to live in a state of denial because the world around them is always changing, and they're almost always losing their battles.

What a left wing rant. Liberals are enlightened tolerant multicultural progressive intelligent individuals and Conservatives are all evil or a bunch of bigots. Another thing is that you seem to be confusing traditionalists with conservatives. Traditionalists concentrate on the past. Progressives concentrate on change. Conservatives concentrate on truth, law, order and religion/philosophy (God).

You're confusing Traditionalists with Conservatives.
Liberal ideas are usually on the winning side because LIBERalism is about LIBERty and LIBERation.
Simple as that. CONservative ideas are usually about restriction while they claim to be for freedom hence the CON in conservative.
You maybe right about Conservatives but you are delluding yourself if you believe that about liberals.
"There is no more left/right conundrum. Now it is simply Libertarian vs. Authoritarian. Democrats and Republicans have been preaching the same goals for generations. Just from different perspectives. The American people have been duped. Since both parties are basically the same, no matter which one is in power, the true Libertarian principles of our forefathers will never raise its head again because the actual Libertarian base never gets any real choice for people in office."
And therein lies the problem; seeing politics as a game of sorts when one team wins and one loses.
