HELENA, Mont. – At a time when gays have been gaining victories across the country, the Republican Party in Montana still wants to make homosexuality illegal. The party adopted an official platform in June that keeps a long-held position in support of making homosexual acts illegal, a policy adopted after the Montana Supreme Court struck down such laws in 1997.
Quote:
"It speaks volumes to the lesbian and gay community how they are perceived by the Republican Party," Abbott said. "It would be nice if Republicans that understand that gay people are human beings would stand up and say they don't agree with that. But I don't know how likely that is."

They'll respond by saying, "Oh, no one really believes that!" Really? Then why don't they remove it from their platform? It can't be that difficult to do.

Great slogan for the Log Cabin Republicans.

Yes, that was crude and politically incorrect, but I bet at least some of you laughed.

More politics of distraction, to keep Americans focused on non-issues like this while Obama takes another vacation and Americans continue to be unemployed and fall deeper into poverty.

I wonder what the lesbian and gay republicans think
about this

I sure hope they do not take 'BUTT' & 'GOVERNMENT'
out of context as I'm pretty sure some Americans
have the same feelings about the two words being the same

I'm not a Republican, but I think they have some catching up to do with the party of fruits and nuts.

Oh yeah.

You do realize this is the republican party doing the distracting. I don't think you get that at all.

Every freaking time the Reps want to cease power they play the poor, white christian, everyhting is a threat to me card. To distract the undereducated white middle class, christian voters [aka Tea Parties today] of the real issues at hand.

They then cease power and do nothing [see 1994-2006 for the decade from hell], lose power and do it all over again when they get pissed off, which is all the goddamn time.
