PICKET: Professor Ayers, you had an unusual dedication to Sirhan Sirhan in your previous book. Do you regret that?
AYERS: Absolutely, but that wasn’t a dedication…show me. You heard it somewhere. The dedication in Prairie Fire in 1974…It was a manifesto was to all prisoners, and if I were writing a book like that today, I would dedicate it to 2.1 million people in prison. I think it was a stupid thing to single him out, but I also think that we have created a monster in the prison system. We ought to abolish the prison system. That’s what I believe.
(And before you attack me -- of course I don't think including Sirhan Sirhan was right.) Also, these people were swayed by a speech by a Kennedy co-trustee; the book was published in 1974; where've they all been?
.........A rare move yesterday from The University of Illinois, it denied a request for emeritus status by a long-serving faculty member. William Ayers is an education professor. He's also a former member of the radical 1970s group, the Weather Underground, which bombed government buildings and became a target of the FBI.
But that's not what derailed is request. Ayers also co-authored a book and dedicated it to Sirhan Sirhan, the man who killed Robert F. Kennedy. And that did not sit well with the chairman of the university's board, himself a Kennedy.

That is what cracks me up about these so-called intellectuals. They go around writing books due to their egos and it ALWAYS comes back to bite them. They aren't very smart if you ask me. Actually quite DUMB!
What kind of sick twist would dedicate a book to Sirhan Sirhan? Nuff said.
The very name Ayers makes me shudder.
The aging domestic terrorist and his wife may still get their due with their involvement with the pro-Palistinian illegal flotilla and the re-opening of a 40 yr. old cold murder case of the San Fransisco police officer killed by the Weather Underground bombing.
