A new AP poll finds that Americans who think the law should have done more outnumber those who think the government should stay out of health care by 2-to-1.
I'm not surprised by this. I think the republicans have greatly over estimated their impact on how the majority of American's view this issue and lots of others. The tea party might be vocal and loud, but their candidates are starting to show their true colors--they're extremists, and they don't have a plan except to obstruct recovery efforts. The average American isn't stupid, and the vast majority of them are politically moderate. I'm hoping the grown-ups prevail in this country and we can have some sort of intelligent, thoughtful debate on how to fix things, vs. the birther/socialism hysteria of the last year.

It was their only shot back to power. It might work in the short-term, they will make some big gains. I still don't think they will take the House, but the chance is very real.
They are screwed for 2012, though. They have no candidates and the tea party will dominate the primaries, which will produce a candidate far outside the mainstream. Republicans have so said no to every measure to fix the mess they made, so in 2012 when the economy is improving and jobs are being added they will not have any record to run on, which means an easy victory for Obama and Democrats.
Let's emphasize the fact that pretty much NOBODY liked this bill yet the morons in power decided to pass it anyways, against the overwhelming will of the American people.
Does it make you happy that your elected officials passed legislation that a majority of the population didn't want?
Does it make you happy that very few of them actually read or understood what they were passing?
Does it make you happy that the cost estimates were grossly underestimated, most likely on purpose?
Does it make you happy that the democrats had to bribe members of their own party to support the bill?
If so, continue voting for those dimwitted dems in November.

Most people like what the bill does. It bans pre-existing conditions, bans rescission, gets rid of lifetime caps, and let's young adults up to 26 stay on their parents insurance. I would be hard pressed to find people who would want to get rid of those tangible changes.
It makes me happy that Obama is making a step in the right direction instead of ignoring the problem like the Republicans did for 8 years.
