It's the mentality of the USA, if you can ever so remotely link some threat or risk to some action...then here come the scolds.
Why would you even think to take the risk when there is possibility of harming someone else? A car may not have the same risks as an airplane, but the car kills far more people each year than any airplane does. I would much prefer if it was assembled by competent employees who do not create unnecessary risk.

In point of fact yes, they are. If they have a BAC of 0 prior to drinking and a BAC of .02 after a beer they are under the influence.

Or how about you do this. Name one single death in the USA caused by a auto worker who didn't do his job right.....drunk or sober?

If it's such a critical job.......LOL

There have been scores of deaths caused by manufacturing defects. Would you care to offer conclusive proof those defects weren't caused by impaired workers?

The same reason you are not wearing a motorcycle helmut right now. Because some risks are so tiny, that they don't require a zero tolerance policy for workers rather than suspension without pay and drug counseling.

You may want to ruin careers for your paranoid safety risk fantasies but I don't.

Design defects. That's for pointing out the obvious. Has nothing to do with workers.

I guess all those auto recalls were just jokes then. What about the Ford tire blowouts about a decade ago?

There is even a website where you can through literally thousands of defects and recalls as a result of poor manufacturing, improperly installed parts, and tons of other problems;

Safercar.gov

Well I disagree. Plenty of people drink and don't become intoxicated. There are different degrees. If you do really believe what you said, then you must concede that this man was under the influence and intoxicated while meeting with world leaders.

The workers ruined their own careers. They agreed to adhere to safety policies when they took the jobs. They chose to violate those policies and got caught doing it.

How is it the company's fault if the employee willfully chose to violate a zero tolerance policy?
