Since the supreme court of the United States ruled that corporations have the same right as individual Americans to contribute to political campaigns tens of millions of dollars are showing up in the coffers of the Republican candidates which is impossible to trace. Big oil and Big Republican interests run hand in glove.
Do you have any actual facts to back this up or is it just an unfounded accusation you decided to toss out to see if it would stick?
It's on all the news channels except FOX. They've been discussing it for the last week.
More accurately they've been speculating as to the possibility without providing any actual evidence. About as much substance to that as there is for the premise of this thread.
The point is that the new ruling from the supreme court allows the money to be undeclared as to who donated it. That's a first. The PAC groups can easily hide where it came from. Anybody who believes the oil companies give as much to Democrats as they do to Republicans need more than an education...they need a head transplant.
Some do some don't Areyou suggesting a little Saudi money is ok? Plus your thread title suggests it is only Repiblicans where this possibility exist. Not very accurate is it?

Well, we KNOW that there was Saudi money in the Obama coffiers from the 2008 campaign. Guess it goes to show that there are 3 fingers pointing back at the Progressives as they finger point towards "what if" scenarios for Republicans.
Some say that the issue of whether foreign corporations can contribute to US elections was not resolved by Citizens United and is up to the Supreme Court or Congress to determine in the future, hence the Sanders bill to explicitly ban foreign contributions to US elections.

The fact that Franken called for an investigation based on something he "seems to believe" is proof of nothing other than what he "seems to believe". Had his investigation been completed linking to the results of the investigation might provide some actual facts.
As far as Citizens United being cited as proof here's the first paragraph from your link;
Quote:
While political observers have dissected much of yesterday’s 5-4 Supreme Court ruling in the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, one potentially huge (and probably unintended) consequence has gotten little notice: the impact the decision could have on foreign government spending on federal campaigns.

Again, no facts. Just more speculation.
Anyone see the hypocrisy of an elected representative who was put into office by the votes of illegal aliens calling for an investigation into foreign money? Maybe Stinky Smally should investgate his own campaign/election.
