Under the new health care law, consumers using workplace pre-tax health savings accounts will soon need a doctor's note to pay for Tylenol and an estimated 15,000 other over-the-counter drugs.

The hits just keep on coming, guess this is the one of the things Pelosi was referring too......

Quote:
"This change could have the unintended consequence of increasing health care costs," he said. It might provide an incentive for consumers to go back on more expensive medications when over-the-counter medicine works just fine."
And...

Quote:
FSAs, which were first authorized by Congress in 1978, are only available through employers who offer the plans. But FSAs face another new rule under the Affordable Care Act -- a limit on the pre-tax contributions to $2,500, starting Jan. 1, 2013. There is currently no limit on how much an employee can contribute to FSAs, although employers can impose one.

Lawmakers imposed the cap to help pay for provisions that will expand coverage starting in 2014. The cap is expected to raise $13 billion for other government-provided health care services offered between 2013 and 2019.

A "tax" by any other name or method is still a TAX.

Less pre-tax income allowed means more tax for the Fed.
Don't forget.."Nothing will change for those that like their current healthcare".

The cap has always been in place for those self-insured with FSA's; however, it is nonsensical that the pre-tax contribution be 1/2 the amount of the deductible for the high deductible plans.

Time to fire Pelosi and repeal Obamacare in time to make meaningful improvements and reduction of costs in health insurance and healthcare instead of this bag of Pelosi forced upon us.

HSA's and FSA's are proven cost-controllers and we have real-world experience to show it. And in recent years, they have become increasingly popular. But because they are market-driven and afford greater consumer choice and freedom, the Democrats hate them.

So the new limitations are no surprise. Health care reform effectively outlaws the kind of high-deductible, low cost policies that are part of the HSA overall plan; one of the most promising strategies to control the rise in health care costs has been strangled in its crib by the Obamacrats. Instead we will be forking our money over to insurance companies instead of making deposits to our Health Savings Accounts.

Our next, best hope to stop the insanity is to vote out every representative or senator that voted for greater government control of health care, and to elect governors that are committed to undoing the damage by joining the multi-state lawsuit and obstructing the implementation of Health Care Reform.

November 2nd, the People's Revenge, is coming.

The more I read about O'care, the more I despise it. What a bunch of B-F'in-S that Obama said if we like our plan we can keep it and nothing would change. I call MAJOR BS.

I wonder how many new IRS employees will need to be hired to verify that every Tylenol purchase from an HSA had a prescription for it. Does the stupidity never end with this administration????

Because the IDIOT Democrats want to be spoon fed a plan that requires no thought but costs the taxpayers several TIMES as much. Not to mention, what good is having pre-tax savings when the majority of them don't pay federal taxes to begin with? That's probably why they hate these plans that save the REST of us money.

Vote Republican and defund/repeal this POS now!!!!
