Like always, I'm disgusted by Sharpton's rhetoric, and the way he insinuates that because black folks elected this judge (which is untrue), therefore the judge should do what the black community wants (which is corrupt).

But despite how much I can't stand Al Sharpton, I do agree with him that the Wilson guy should be let free.

I'm no great fan of Big Al but can't really fault him for grabbing what he can.

It's the media that gives him time as if he has some official standing as a spokesman for ? the irks me. He's as entitled to his opinion as any other citizen, I just wish they'd keep it off the news.

Didn't Wilson and his buddy videotape the consensual act? Then that makes them producers of child porn, so there's your 10 years anyway!

The man had sex with a 15 year old. This will have a negative affect on this child's life forever. I can't believe that anyone would support releasing this individual. Children need to be protected without regard for the offender's age or sex.

Children??? 15 (or lower) is the age of consent in six states. It's all of 16 in more than thirty others. The only negative effects necessarily arising out of this case have their origin in the ridiculous prosecution of it as a felony with a mandatory 10-year sentence upon conviction. Children need to be protected from those who are off on a mad crusade to protect them...

Well, let's all push the Al Sharpton button and see what comes out this time. Oh, same as last time. What a shock. Maybe we should push the Ward Churchill button next...

Dude, plenty of people lose their virginity before they are 15. Get over it. It's sex, and it feels good

Besides, he was only 17.

Sharpton is a d-i-ckhead, though...no doubt about it.

Sorry, I just disagree with you. This was not some horrendous act, this was two teenagers. A 17 year old having consensual sex with a 15 year old should not get 10 years in prison, live his life as a convicted felon, and be stripped of his rights to vote or leave the country. The Georgia State legislature agrees with me, as does a state judge.

Your last statement - "Children need to be protected without regard for the offender's age or sex." - would make a really odd piece of legislation.

If two 11-year olds get into a fight, will we be booking both of them for "Assault and Battery on a Minor"?
