I've linked to a Reuters article that backs up what I'm seeing locally--life long republicans who are horrified by tea party candidates, and switching parties, or at this point, seriously considering it. I still think the republicans will take the House at the midterms, but if the rhetoric and the behavior that we're currently seeing out of tea party candidates continues, they may have a very short lived majority. Reasonable people won't put up with this nonsense.

Are you adding a little something 'extra' to your coffee??? Seriously?

I disagree. If anything, the Republican party is stronger than ever - in spite of or despite the Tea Party. It is a great feeling!

The Democratic Party does have a big tent and there has been a migration of reasonable Conservatives to the Dems, for a while. It is likely that process will speed up a good bit.

What is horrifying these sage Republican voters is that Tea Party candidates ARE IN FACT Republican candidates. These candidates are not stable people for starters. I know Neocons horrified some Republican voters too, and many switched at that time. GOP needs to find its roots or go bankrupt. The corporatists and loons have taken over.

LOL, see Dems just don't get it, conservatives have been the open minded party all along. This is nothing new. If Republicans don't like their parties candidate they vote for someone else. The Dems on the other hand continue to vote for any loon with a D after their name. See Alan Grayson.

Too funny! The Republicans are on the verge of taking over the government and to the loony left thinks they are in trouble. The left is a hoot!

LOL, maybe not.

It is the left that insists on orthodoxy.

"Democrats can keep their big tent after the election. There just won’t be anybody on one side of it.
While members of the liberal Congressional Progressive Caucus are relatively safe in a tough year for Democrats, the more moderate Blue Dog Democrats in the House will be on the endangered species list after Tuesday’s election."
