This thread is from early November. I was referring to an earlier vote on the repeal of DADT.

Where are these "huge blocs" (it's blocs, not "blocks") of Dem voters that would favor repeal of DADT. Most of the reports that I've read show strong approval of the repeal, even moreso amongst Dems naturally. Even some of the conservative posters in this forum have been in support of repeal. People that read more about current events usually are more informed and know how to spell simple words.

That's ridiculous. Anyone who knows anything about politics is aware of the fact that Democrats are, by far, more supportive of gay issues than Republicans.

A quick glance at the Human Rights Campaign's Congressional scorecard makes this obvious:

Well maybe DADT just isn't as big of a deal as the gay community would have us believe .. I mean, for most gays, their sexual orientation is really no ones business in the first place, so why even bother with it?

I think the repeal of DADT was a very big deal for most gays, especially those who want to serve in the military.

The preacher of the Westboro Baptist Church is a democrat. That's the church that protests gays at military funerals. That's the real democratic party.

The Prop 8 margin was only 4%. Where do you get 80% against? maybe in a more rednecked neck of the woods? but not in calif. If not for the huge influx of bigoted mormon money and stupid immigrant/black voters, it would have passed. To Bush's credit, he didn't strongly push for a constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage like the bible thumper supporters wanted him to. I'm not aware that he ever came out in favor of same sex unions other than to say that they were entitled to nominal hospital visitation rights, enter into contracts, etc. Cheney spoke out more on this than Bush ever did because of his opportunistic lesbian daughter.

Both bock and bloc are acceptable terms based on how I used the term but of course you'll nit pick the unimportant parts of what I said and ignore the meat of the statement. On a side note, "moreso" isn't a real word.
