U.S. Gives Palestinian Authority $150 Million in Aid - BusinessWeek

Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today said the U.S. gave $150 million in direct aid to help the cash-strapped the Palestinian Authority close its budget deficit, after direct peace talks with Israel stalled.

I guess Hillary didn't notice that the US is cash-strapped! But hey, lets pay off Hezbollah anyway.

Wrong country. they are in Lebanon. I'm guessing you meant Hamas. But alas we cant send them money since they are on the naughty list of terrorist organizations. But the PA changed their name from the PLO so now they are on the the nice list. See what a simple name change does.

That's 1/10th of what the US gives Israel (who insists the US give them their foreign aid in Euros instead of US Dollars -- whoever said the Israelis were stupid).

If that were true then the U.S. should stop all funds to South America. Why is the U.S. paying for the damage that Spain did??

4 posts. 4 posts. When I saw the thread title I wondered "How long will it take until someone compares this to foreign air to Israel?" There is a big difference between giving money to a Democracy that is on friendly terms with us and to a government of a quasi-nationstate who's population elects radicals and wants to see us dead.

Guess conservatives don't believe in "Soft Power" anymore.

Guess money is best spent in the Arab world when it is $150 million for smrt bombs.

Well, if they weren't a country that had the Hamas and elected radicals, and wasn't in a hostile area, I'd say the USA is almost taking a role as something as a World Government/Red Cross/Aid (dunno what to call it) But we help a lot of countries, but don't get much back...

If China gets on top, takes over as #1 superpower, I doubt they'll be handing out money, but I feel like other countries should be helping support the USA, our army, navy, and air force protect more countries than our own, but we're the ones collapsing?

And you were the first to bring politics into it.
