So you know better than to have your financial statements mailed on paper to your residence mailbox, right? Because it has long been known that ID thieves steal your mail and use your account numbers.
And you know better certainly than to put sensitive items in your residential mailbox and flag it for pick up because that tells the ID thieves that you are mailing maybe bills they can steal.
So you take your bills and other mail to the mailbox at the corner or even the local Post Office because it is SAFE, right?
NOPE!

I have often said that, if criminals applied the efforts and ideas they get to a LEGIT way to earn a living, they would not have to steal!

Not to change the subject of your thread too much but I had pointed out in the past that illegals have been known (at least in west Texas) to use a mailbox of an abandoned house to receive SS and government benefits. A long vacate rent house can also become a target.

I raise the flag on my mailbox here on the farm but I only place mail in the box within hours of the postman's arrival. On a busy day, we get about three cars along our road. However, if it's a big payment, as in the monster check I just mailed to the Bailey County, Texas Tax Appraisal office on Friday, I take those to the Post Office's inside drop box. The loss of one of those checks could bankrupt Donald Trump.
