We already do. They're called Pell Grants, etc. Move vouchers down to the K-12 level, and our K-12 system will be the best in the world just like our post-secondary system.

Plus ever stop to think maybe parents cant always have every waking moment to help their kids? Maybe their have jobs, if they are lucky to have both parents to begin with..

Once again we change the education system, we cant change every parent and their situation.
It's not the education system that's at fault. Why do you think it's their responsibility to pick up the slack for uncaring parents. That is not their job. And yes, if you have kids you spend every waking moment to help them.

Beliefs will not affect their lifetime earning capacity. The love for learning and the solid foundation in core curriculum will.

Did I ever say they should?

Once again tell that a single mother working 2 or in some case 3 jobs just to get by...I dare you...

What are you talking about. And it's not up to the teacher.

No, YOU don't get it. Public schools let those who struggle drag down everyone else. That's unconscionable. Educators should be ashamed for doing so. It's blatant educational child abuse.

No vouchers.

Public Colleges are NOT free, that makes Pell Grants not an apples-to-apples comparison. Public high schools are free.

If you want private high school, pay for it, or Junior can earn his own tuition working summers.

lol, ok. What do you suppose they do with kids that struggle. And no, parents should be ashamed of themselves for not teaching their kids. It seems teachers are considered babysitters and parents to your kids

Heterogeneous classes. Unless every public K-12 school has high, medium, and low-level classes, grouped by ability/skill level with the curriculum adjusted accordingly, they're guilty of educational malpractice. It's a KNOWN fact that mixed-ability classes drag down the top and middle. And that was known over 20 years ago:

Indeed, it does. Pell Grants can be used at any accredited post-secondary education institution, public or private.
