Excellent video.

What was the energy source behind the great expansion of health and wealth of the world the last 200 years? The one that is reviled by environmentalists and the Left today? The one they say we must reject and ween ourselves from? What has allowed this world to advance by leaps and bounds the last 200 years?

Well yes, but what fed that capitalism? Without it all that ingenuity and industry would not have happened. Three little letters.

Well, I thought that went without saying. Only a mental midget would dismiss this country's founding when watching the video...

I agree with you, but what do you think will happen when those three little letters turn into the four little letters, g-o-n-e? It's not like Earth is making it as fast as we're using it.

My point was that oil, the energy source foundation for the increase in wealth/health the world over for the last 200 years, is considered evil and reviled as the cause of the world's woes from environmentalists. They would do away with if they could.

"They" have been saying for decades we are close to running out of oil. Another prediction unfulfilled.

Well energy is intrinsically linked to human, and intellectual, growth.

So "they" are still wrong, big deal. However, any logical person can conclude that we'll still run out eventually. Maybe in our lifetime, maybe not but placing bets on the specific timing doesn't matter.

Point is, what do we do when oil starts running low? Should we have other sources in place ready to step up, should we say "f--- it" and party like it'll last forever, or is there some other proposal you'd like to make?

so we should keep polluting? Are you insinuating that we should be living the same way we did during the industrial revolution? There was a significantly less population then right? I guess relying on fossil fuels to aid in the oomph and warming and cooling of millions less people wouldn't make our world so polluted.

But we don't live in 1810 or 1910 for that matter.
