Gas was so expensive four years ago because we were in the middle of a terrible recession. When the economy contracts, there is less demand for fuel, so the price of oil drops. Supply and demand.

I barely use my car so the price of gas, which I've seen fluctuate both up & down throughout the years by the way, isn't a hardship for me.

Did you know 3/4 of all Chinese car buyers never owned a car before (millions are buying cars)? Did you know the second largest employer in China is their oil and gas company (the first is their military) Next car I'm buying will have to get some better miles per gallon because I think gas prices are really going to rise plenty within a couple of years. It could be the reason why the fed does not seem eager to tap our resources quite yet. I'm not talking politics but reality instead.

It was quite dumb to buy a "big azz truck"

Why are you concerned with gas prices? Never leaving you mom's basement means you never have to buy gas.

Denver Gas Prices - Find Cheap Gas Prices in Colorado

Pretty cheap here in metro Denver. Lowest price in last 24 hrs is $2.29. Not far from me, either. Maybe I'll go over there this afternoon.

I ride a motorcycle, so I don't pay much attention to gas prices. At 54 mpg, why bother?

For people who worship at the altar of the Free Market, conservatives have a very poor understanding of how it works, don't they?

Wasn't a big truck. Its a small suv I had 2 kids and one on the way so I needed something larger. Point being your savior is a f'ing moron when it comes to managing anything larger than a piggy bank.

Gee a person of even a marginal economic education would pause and wonder how gas prices could be higher even though demand has been lower. So what could possibly the the reason for an increase? Federal gasoline taxes have not risen since 1993 so that couldn't be the reason. Clearly a contraction of the economy can't be the reason for downward pressure... what is left?
