Total BS....Since 1992, an annual average of 83 gigatons (91.5 billion tons) of West Antarctic glacier has dripped into the sea. That’s the rough equivalent of losing a Mt. Everest’s worth of ice every two years, according to a new study.

Two studies published in December suggest that Greenland’s ice sheet is melting far faster than we realize.

Thanks to several big scientific breakthroughs, 2014 will likely go down as the year that melting polar ice caps graduated from being a geographic abstraction to a symbol of the irreversible ways we’ve warped the planet. 2014 was the year of the melting ice sheet – Quartz

First, the West Antarctic ice sheet is melting from geothermal activity, not climate. Anyone who uses the West Antarctic ice sheet to prove climate-change is either naive or dishonest.

Underwater volcanoes, not climate change, reason behind melting of West Antarctic Ice Sheet : SCIENCE : Tech Times

Second Paper: Geothermal Heat Melting West Antarctica

Secondly, I don't know what "Greenland's ice sheet is melting far faster than we realize" even means. What do we realize exactly? And how much more?

Lastly, the post was about Global sea ice, not the land-based ice sheets. We can have both record highs of sea-ice and record lows of ice sheets at the same time. So it seems a bit ridiculous to say "BS", right?

So an internet blog site says global sea ice breaks record high....seems legit, who would ever lie to the OP on the internet.

Why can't you just verify it is true yourself?

Antarctic sea ice level breaks record, NASA says - CBS News

http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_te...ut_global.html

Don't get me wrong, Climatedepot certainly distorts the data and wording in all its entries/blogs/reports/etc. But it is not just making stuff up.

Everyone knows sea-ice is increasing significantly in Antarctica. No idea why we are even arguing about it.

In fact, many say that the reason sea-ice is increasing in Antarctica is actually because the ice sheets are melting. As ice sheet melts, they release fresh water. Fresh water introduced into the Arctic lowers salinity. Lower salt levels makes it easier for water to freeze. Thereby creating sea-ice.

If we are going to have a discussion. Let us actually discuss the facts, instead of just jumping to our predetermined "side", and defending it beyond all logic(and that goes for everyone).

This is why many people have described the climate debate as a sort of "religion". It is almost a kind of "team sport". No one really wants to discuss the facts, or even to find or verify the data for themselves(or at least look for inconsistencies in what is reported). They take their preformed views and confirmation biases and rant about how everyone else is wrong.

From a more unbiased perspective, at least 95% of the posters on this forum look like complete morons.

Antarctic sea ice is hitting record levels. What does that say about global warming?

Maybe if I bold this, the OP will finally realize why sea ice growing isn't a good thing. Also, thanks for the link from a real source rather than a blog, I get tired of doing that for the OP who seems to prefer to get his "science" from blogs.

Interesting, as there if proof it would not have happened without man?
I guess it never happened pre the industrial revolution or even prior to mans existence, right?

So you admit that I'm right and the OP is wrong...If you take the time to research the science, then you will have to admit that today warming is mainly caused by man.
