"Why do liberals scream about $5 birth control pills but not $5/gallon gasoline?"

"Liberals" never screamed for $5 birth control pills just the nutcase reactionaries who did. As for oil prices, Liberals understand that there are prices that you can control and prices that you can't.

A month's pills at walmart online is $72. or $2.37 dollars a day.

$2.37 dollars in a 1970 Torino is a little more than 1/2 gallon of Premium and will take me about 6 miles down the road. It gets 10 city, 12 highway. http://www.torinocobra.com/images/page8and9.jpg Why yes, this has absolutely nothing to do with women's contraceptive use. I just figured I'd stay in the same vein as the topic. In other words, link a bunch of crap together and pretend they correlate.

Iassume the OP also makes the same case for Viagra.

Edit . I see 3 people had the same idea I had .. in like .. the same minutes.. and that's just hilarious.

Where is your outrage?
Only religious organizations are seeking an exemption from the rule based on their belief that sex without the possibility of conception is immoral. There is no prohibition of sex in their teachings, therefore their indifference towards Viagra. But I suspect those who raise this issue are not interested in a rational response.

A rational response when he said $5 bucks for gasoline .. and I put a link there ... and gasoline is not 5 bucks a gallon. Might as well say BREAD COSTS $40 DOLLARS A loaf and LIBERALS .. want FORNICATIONS ... be the same thing.

So, yeah, a rational response to a thead that is about something that isn't even correct?

I would be more curious to know why conservative/reactionaries scream about the price of gas while doing everything in the power to denounce anything that has to do with developing alternate sources of energy?

I know the day is coming when common folk won't be allowed to HAVE gasoline. Or, cars like my 1970 Ford, which gets a whopping 12 MPG, will be legislated off the streets or just for show, since, seriously, it's a major gas hog.

My other cars are a 2000 Honda Accord - my work car - and my wife's 2007 Honda Civic. Guess which one people stop and say, "NICE CAR!"

Because so-called alternate sources of energy are useless. All any of them are good for is enriching Nancy Pelosi and her campaign contributors' bank accounts. Our economy is entirely dependent on oil, not wind, not solar, not fairy dust. Without oil our economy is dead. I'll put it to you another way. Living creatures need oxygen for cell respiration. We can't breathe nitrogen for cell respiration despite the fact that nitrogen may be more plentiful. We need oxygen. Well it's the same way with our economy and oil. We need oil, no ands ifs or buts. Last time I checked, it was Democrats who have always stood in the way of domestic oil exploration, drilling, and refining, in deference to the environmentalist and green energy lobby. Therefore the blame for high gas prices lies squarely on their shoulders.

No one is saying BC should not be used for medical reasons. There is no argument there even if some are trying to make it so.

If $5 for birth control saves society from having to pay for an unwanted child to the tune of several hundred thousand dollars in welfare, food stamps, unemployment, or jail, then why not?

The reason the OP isn't hearing liberals complain about $5 gas is because EVERYONE is complaining about it. S/He just can't think of liberals in any light other than complete darkness.

Five dollar a gallon gas is indeed quite an increase from the under $2 it cost three years ago, but then we were in a period of deflation back then as the economy collapsed. One could almost say the fact that it's increasing is a sign of some economic improvement just like rising house prices are a sign the market is improving. I still will complain that gas is too expensive and my finger is pointing to the fact that it is a commodity that people can speculate on. That needs to stop.

Next topic please...
