The Democrats in Texas distanced themselves from the Democrats in DC all during their campaigns.
Even the Dem running for Governor campaigned on that platform and didn't meet up with Obama when he came to Texas.
I think Doggett is the only true DC Dem (represents Austin) that follows the Obama agenda and got re-elected on that platform.

Cut back on education on one hand and then fund F1 racing and build another empty train to nowhere on the other.
Austin (the city) has gone crazy. I live outside the city limits thankfully and by next year will be in a totally different county as I plan on moving. I can't afford to retire this close to Austin.
